FREE MEMBER PROGRAMS

Because the YMCA is committed to improving the wellness of our members, we are offering a wide range of programs this season free of charge with a paid monthly membership. We want to encourage our members to come to their YMCA regularly and experience new things that will increase fitness and provide interaction with other members.

LITTLE KICKS TAE KWON DO return to top 
Ages: 4 to 6 years
Sessions:
Mondays 6 - 6:45 pm
(Ongoing, new sessions begin each month.)

Description: Little Kicks introduces children to the fundamental principles and discipline of martial arts. Class instruction will cover the basic skills of blocks, kicks and jabs as well as other self-defense techniques. In addition to martial arts, Little Kicks will teach character development and the core values of the YMCA: caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

TODDLER TUMBLING return to top

Tuesdays, 4:30 - 5:15 pm
Description: Embrace your little ones love of tumbling through this engaging class. Develop social skills, physical coordination, confidence, and listening. A fun an educational atmosphere for both child and parent!

GROUP CYCLING return to top 
Sessions: (Ongoing) Tues./Thurs., 6 - 6:45 am
Description: A superior cardiovascular workout which incorporates different levels of resistance, speed and intensity. Participants are encouraged to cycle at their own ability level.

JUMP & PUSH return to top 
Sessions: Fridays, 6 - 6:30 am
Description: An advanced 30 minute class that incorporates jumping rope and upper body strengthening exercises to give you an intense workout! If you are ready to test your strength and jumping abilities, this class is for you.

Description: These workshops are led by some of the area’s prominent health professionals. Geared toward keeping you informed and healthy, topics include stress management, meditation practice, changing type-A behavior, exercise and pregnancy, parenting tools and dealing with diabetes.

BIBLE STUDY return to top

Description: This is a nondenominational, guided, devotional study designed to be spiritually uplifting, inclusive and informative. No previous knowledge of the Bible or religion is necessary to attend.

JESUS, THE ONE AND ONLY return to top 
Sessions: Thurs., 6:45 - 8:45 pm, Aug. 5th - Oct. 14th
Description: Get to know "Jesus, the One and Only" through an 11-week Beth Moore Bible study. This life-changing journey will lead you through the Holy Land to a more personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This interactive study includes personal, daily assignments and weekly group sessions which include Moore's video lectures.

oLD TESTAMENT BIBLE STUDY return to top 
Sessions: 7 - 8:00 pm, Tuesdays July 20th thru Nov. 2nd
Description:
Join us for a Bible Study and discussion based on Life Principles from the Kings of the Old Testament, a series on character and leadership qualities. Using both good and bad qualities in kings of Israel and Judah, we will explore how we should respond to the call of leadership and servant hood. Each week, there are five short readings to be completed outside of class and weekly we will gather to discuss the readings and explore what they mean for today.

STROLLER CLUB return to top 
Sessions: 10 - 11 am, Monday - Friday
Description: The club allows moms and dads to get an aerobic workout while spending time with their child. Carriers, backpacks or strollers may be used.

PARENT-TOT SWIM LESSONS return to top

Where: Therapy Pool 
Description: Both parent and child jump into these lessons. The goal is to earn your child’s trust in a fun and structured setting. This is an “introduction to water” class. We will be teaching the parents to teach their child. The class is not a series class; nonmembers may pay per visit on Saturdays that swim lessons are being taught.
Policies: Children must wear swim diapers.

ADULT & TEEN SWIM LESSONS return to top

Sessions: Saturdays, 11:30 am - 12:15 pm

Where: Therapy Pool 
Description: If it has been awhile since  you’ve been swimming, or you have never been in the water, you’re never too old and it’s never too late.  Lessons are taught in the quiet, warm Therapy Pool where only adults are scheduled at that time.

POOL RECORD DAY return to top 

Ages: 6 years and up
Sessions: Every 2nd & 4th Saturday, 11am - Noon (ongoing)
*You must sign-up by the Friday before to compete. Sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board.
Where: YMCA of Harrison County Natatorium 
Description: Come make your mark! Swim competitions will start at 11:00 a.m. Come early to warm-up!
