Y TO GO!

Each month we thank one of our staff members for an outstanding achievement or job done above and beyond.

The September Y To Go recipient is Christine Ransdell

Christine has been a part of our YMCA family since we opened our facility in 2004. She has worn many hats these last four years - Front Desk Personnel, Water Aerobics Instructor and, last but not least, you can probably find her doing a “shimmy” or two as a Fitness belly dancing instructor!

Christine was nominated for Y TO GO for taking the initiative to revamp the filing system at the front desk.  She demonstrates the importance of teamwork and the YMCA spirit of family.  She always wants to be kept busy, even during the occasional slow times.  Hats off to Christine for a job well done!

In June 2008 Andrew Partin won the Y TO GO.

Not only does Andrew monitor the safety of our pool, he saves lives outside our Y as well.

On his way to work one morning, Andrew saw a car crash and flip over in front of him. He grabbed his latex gloves (yes, he keeps them in his car) and went to the aid of the woman in the vehicle. He pulled her from the car and provided first aid until EMS arrived.

Andrew's training made it easy for him to react to the situation and help someone who was injured. Because of his bravery and quick thinking, Andrew without a doubt, is our Y TO GO winner.

In May 2008 Cindy Law easily met the requirement for Y to Go.

Realizing that the soccer fields needed to be striped because Walter Pauly, our Sports Director, was out of town, Cindy jumped into action. She gathered the needed supplies and with her baby, Lucia, strapped to her back, Cindy stripped all the soccer fields. This is a huge project and not only did Cindy volunteer her time, she had guidance from Lucia!

We thank you Cindy for coming to the rescue!
